With the leadership of Alderman Solis and Alderman Ocasio an historic unanimous resolution was passed, demonstrating a mandate by the City of Chicago for this moratorium to stop the raids, deportations and separation of families while a just comprehensive immigration reform is implemented. Those signed on signifying their support during the roll call include: Mayor Daley and the entire Chicago City Council via the resolution sponsored by Alderman Ocasio and Alderman Solis, Congressman Luis Gutierrez, Congressman Jan Shakowsky, Congressman Bobby Rush, State Senator Iris Martinez State Representative Cynthia Soto, State Representative Will Davis, State Representative Toni Berrios, and Cook County Commissioner Roberto Maldonado.
