Why I Joined RJSN

To punish students by sending them home is not good for anybody. It shows that we do not know how to work with our students and treat them exactly how they are- young adults who will be the leaders of our community. Restorative justice is an approach that makes kids accountable for their actions by allowing them to come together and interact in a community setting. They see how their actions have affected others. Instead of casting our children aside let us listen to them and hear what they have to say. Let us give them the dignity and respect we all want. RJSN advocates for these values which I hold dear. That is why I'm a member.
