RJSN organized a petition to present to the school board demanding restorative justice in our schools. On the 17th of this month RJSN will bring the signatures to the school board meeting. Thank you to everyone at the school board meeting last night. It was standing room only. Because of your efforts the superintendent has agreed to meet with RJSN's leadership to discuss possible implementation of restorative justice techniques.
Please write a letter our leadership can bring to the meeting. The letter should be personal and express why you are committed to restorative justice. Please go to our letter writing page by the 6th of next month so we can have the letters ready to present.

Starting during the 2008-09 school year restorative justice techniques will be implemented in our schools because of the efforts of RJSN and all of our members. CONGRATULATIONS! On October 8th Chicago City Council Unanimously Passed a Resolution Calling for a Moratorium on Raids and Deportations, calling on all candidates and elected officials to commit themselves to the moratorium and to work for comprehensive immigration reform in the next administration.

With the leadership of Alderman Solis and Alderman Ocasio an historic unanimous resolution was passed, demonstrating a mandate by the City of Chicago for this moratorium to stop the raids, deportations and separation of families while a just comprehensive immigration reform is implemented.
